Project Details
In 1977 American General applied the Denso Petrolatum System to protect their cooling tower framework and piping. After years of service the cooling towers had to be replaced. This provided the perfect opportunity to inspect Denso’s Petrolatum Tape System. The petrolatum tape coating had been in service for over 37 years in a wet/humid corrosive environment. It was found after removing the Denso Petrolatum Tape, the steel was in perfect condition with no corrosion. Since the coating system exceeded the life of the cooling tower the engineers specified that all pipes, valves, fittings and structural steel be protected with the Denso Petrolatum Tape System. Denso has a long list of successful case histories as we have been manufacturing petrolatum products for over 85 years.
